Piedmont
Some of the finest red wines are produced in Piedmont. Two of the best DOCG wines come from this region in northwest Italyand are named Barolo and Barbaresco.
The most cultiveted vines are the red grapes, which cover 70% of land under vine, you can remember Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa, Nebbiolo and Grignolino, while among those white grapes - 30% of production - can be found in 'order, Muscat Blanc, Cortese and Erbaluce. The major grapes of Piedmont are Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo.
I have designed a variety of itineraries to tatse the Piedmont wines and all these can now be customized to suit individual needs. You can now take a look at Wine Tours in Piedmont
