Tenuta dell'Ornellaia was founded in 1981, in a beautiful, unspoiled part of Tuscany. From the outset, the mission was to produce outstanding wines. Since then passion and dedication, coupled with a unique terroir and an extraordinary microclimate, have brought the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia's prestigious labels great success and recognition as one of the most important wineries in the world.

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Bolgheri DOC Superiore

Tasting Notes: Ripeness and elegance are the two qualities that can best describe Ornellaia 2009. Born from a vintage which began cool then turned hot, it was necessary to take painstaking care during harvest in order to preserve the grapes' crisp acidity and aromatic complexity. The wine's fragrances are generous and cleanly-defined, with rich, well-ripened fruit, complemented by chocolate and balsamic notes of aromatic herbs. On the palate, silky-smooth and spacious, with glossy tannins. A lively, refreshing acidity lifts a lingering finish.
Grape varieties: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot.
Food Pairings: Red meats, hearty chicken, meaty past.

Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia Bolgheri DOC

Tasting Notes: Tasted September 2011 Offspring of a warm, sunny vintage, Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia 2009 displays above all else the superb ripe fruit characteristic of the vintage. Its colour is intense and offers a nose rich with ripe dark berryfruit and fruit preserves, enlivened with a delicate vein of spice. On the palate, full and well-rounded with notably refined, silky tannins. A seductive acidity keeps all the components in balance, prolonging a finish that has an appealing freshness.
Grape varieties: 54% Merlot; 31% Cabernet Sauvignon; 5% Cabernet Franc; 10% Petit Verdot.
Food Pairings: Red meats, hearty chicken, meaty past.

Le Volte dell´Ornellaia Toscana IGT

Tasting Notes: The hot and sunny 2009 vintage gave us a remarkably appealing Le Volte, with rich, intense fruit and spice notes, and no trace of over-ripeness. On the palate boasts a smooth, velvety mouthfeel, with glossy tannins and a lively, crisp acidity, both contributing to its impressive balance, and it concludes with very lengthy finish.
Grape varieties: 50% Merlot; 30% Sangiovese; 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Food Pairings: Red meats, hearty chicken, meaty past.

Variazioni in Rosso dell´Ornellaia Toscana IGT

Tasting Notes: Its colour is deep and intense, the nose very emphatic, with notes of dark berry fruit, but of flowers and spice as well. Its hallmark of forcefulness is well on display in the mouth, with fine concentration of fruit. The tannins are dense and muscular, yet rounded and in balance, so that the wine overall exhibits a closely-woven, velvety texture.
Grape varieties: 65% Petit Verdot 21% Merlot 12% Cabernet Sauvignon 2% Cabernet Franc.
Food Pairings: Red meats, hearty chicken, meaty past.

Poggio alle Gazze Toscana IGT

Tasting Notes: On the palate exhibits a remarkably smooth mouthfeel, and a warmth and breadth that faithfully mirror the overall warmth of the vintage. A subtle nuance of vanilla lifts the palate, while a lively, refreshing vein of acidity contributes to a superb balance of all of its components and drives the development into a finish that is vibrant, clean, and refreshing.

Ornus dell´Ornellaia

Tasting Notes: This inaugural vintage of Ornus dell'Ornellaia displays an intense gold color, with a very complex nose where the ripe hints of exotic fruit, peach jam and honey are balanced by cooler notes of lemon and grapefruit. On the palate it is very rich, sweet and well-rounded with a strong fruity intensity. The high sugar content is perfectly balanced by a lively acidity, emphasized by delicate toasted hints of wood, ending with a long, sapid finish.
Grape varieties: 100% Petit Manseng
